HANDLE: beautifully hand curved ” Kamagong” or ebony with good grip design to hold hand comfortably. Fittings in Brass parts and pinned tang.

SHEATH: Mahogany, Kiln and cured to aged; Natural finish to show wood grain and authenticity/ uniqueness of each piece. beautifully hand curved with “Batek” warrior pattern of the north tagalog. Pins are installed to prevent the sheath from splitting.

Description

The Tagalog region calls this blade  as “Golok” or ‘Itak na malapad “or ‘wide’. Functioning like a butcher’s machete, the blade widens near the tip and performs well with chopping and slashing. Its combative art’s  technique is effective in close quarter or “dikitan”, because of its broader tip that widens circular  to the tip slashes  and leaves a deeper damage to an enemy upon engage.
