Description

This blade was mainly used for slaughtering cattle in Pangasinan province and other parts of northern Luzon . It is commonly known as “panduyok” or” pang-rukruk” or” pantusok” meaning ‘a tool to pierce’; the small belly at the mid section of the blade allows the smooth flow of the blood. Other names this blade is called are Pimmagay (Ilokano), Pimmagey (Pangasinan and Ibaloi), and Dahong Palay (Tagalog region), Matarum in Bicol. The blade design is similar to various types of the Espada Ancha of Spain.
