Description

From the Tagalog province of Batangas comes the Kampit, meaning ‘knife’, generally called “kutsilyo” in most regions.  The blade shape is also similar to a mid size  bolo knife in Ilocos region which the design  was also originated in “Balawan La Union”,  that’s why the distinct blade shape is common . Its Combative technique is most use in  slashing and blocking by the use  of the spine. The belly is very much effective and the distinct design of the back of the blade lightens it for quick manipulating  techniques. As an Agricultural implement and Utilities it is  effectively used  for chopping, slabbing bamboos, and a curving tool used for curving boats most on the sea side regions.
