BLADE: 5160 Carbon steel, selective tempered for machete hardness, grooves signifies the “BATEK/BATIK”(ancient marks/Tatoos Of Maharlikan(filipino) Warrior in Mindanao.

HANDLE: beautifully hand curved  and designed “kamagong/ ebony”   with a good grip design to hold hand comfortably. Secured with Brass pommel and pinned tang, weight  added into it to have a fair balance. 

SHEATH: Mahogany, Kiln and cured to aged; Natural finish to show wood grain and authenticity and uniqueness of each piece. beautifully hand curved with “Batek” warrior pattern of the ” tagalog (taga-ilog)” in the northern Philippines,  and a force fitted clip to ensure safety to hold the blade without  difficulty in drawing the blade, it is also serve as a belt loop.

Description

The Batangas Malapad is a type of broad bolo that widens near the tip. It’s distinct shape  is similar to a leaf and  sometimes seen on  celtic’s swords,  Kopis, sometimes is less curved, and sometimes similar to the Kukris. the belly cuts  the deeper upon slash. as for  farm implement it is good to use for  cutting firewoods, clearing operations and good also for butcher’s machete.
