BLADE: 5160 Carbon steel, selective tempered for machete hardness, grooves signifies the “BATEK/BATIK”(ancient marks/Tattoos Of Maharlikan(filipino) Warrior.

HANDLE: beautifully hand curved Mahogany with rattan wrap and waving pattern ; I has a longer  two handed grip design to hold hand comfortably for daily use and easy manurabilty either for grapple and slashing. Ferrule or handles’ collar is a “Manal” (chromium steel).

SHEATH: Mahogany, Kiln and cured to aged; Natural finish to show wood grain and authenticity and uniqueness of each piece. Beautifully hand curved  side draw casing with “Batek” warrior pattern of the mountainous northern tribe ; secured with  force fitted clip to ensure safety and quick draw of the blade.

Description

Early 19th century this type of axe machete or other popular name as “Sinawit” or Binaroy of the Kan-kana-ey was popular with the Apayao tribe of northern Luzon. The blade design is uniquely functional when it comes to combative arts and for multi tasking  farm implement. The influence of the Egyptian machete  and the Chinese Gei is evident in this blade.
